Well I have a CVA mountain rifle I got for a song and a dance. But Im becoming a little leery of using it in the field for a number of reasons. So Im looking at other options. I was thinking of a Lyman deerstalker, but I had a thought about the NEF. You see Im an Encore owner and have since been bitten by the single shot bug. So of course if I get the Huntsman I can build on the bbl collection. Plus the NEF is a "modern" gun that has a traditional look.......very nice in my opinion. So here are the questions I have.
I know some in-lines have problems with powder residue seeping out the rear area and causing un-due amounts of extra cleaning. Does the huntsman "leak" like this or is the fouling pretty well contained.
Next, Ive been reading that the sites are cheezy. Are better replacements available? I dont mind putting a scope on sooner or later, but for now I want to stay iron sites.
Finaly, whats everyones overall opinion of the Huntsman? Am I better off going with a more traditional in-line or even still going with the Deerstalker?
Thanks.
