1894 jams...
« on: September 06, 2004, 03:56:57 AM »
once in a while my 44 mag 1894 will jam.  it seems to be that a shell out of the magazine pops out too soon and locks up the action.  i have to remove the lever in order to clear the jam.  any ideas on how to fix this?

Check the cartridge OAL or try a load with a different length.

it has done this with two different loads, one a nosler 240 grain, and once with my cast 310gr.  neither exceeded o.a.l..  seems for some reason they pop out a little too soon.  and it doesnt happen often, but as you might expect at the most in-opportune moments.
