Now that "The Hanned Line" is (apparently?) out of business, is anyone producing a similar tool for modifying .22 LR ammo. I have seen photos of Paco Kelly's "accurizer" but it seem kind of expensive when all I want is a jig to uniformly flatten the nose of a bullet. Any advice appreciated. Jim

You might try contacting Dennis Smith to see if he still has any left over. He owned The Hanned Line.

Thanks GB, I'll give that a try.  It seems like a handy little tool - is there not enough of a market for someone to produce them?

Graybeard,
Is that email address for Dennis current?  My message bounced back.  Jim

Don't think Denis is around the net anymore. I haven't been able to get up with him in a long time. I was one of the very first to order the SGB tool, in fact Denis had my money for over a year before I ever got it. He would send me an email about every 30 days or so asking it I wanted my money back, I'd tell him if he was still planing on building the tool to keep the money and send it when it was ready. I have it and use it more than the tool that Paco makes which is also a very good tool for your .22lr box. The easiest way to get one of these is to find an old piece of .22lr barrel stock and have a machinist modify it so you can use it as an SGB tool.
I have seen another site that has these tools on it. Can't remember what they are called but it is the same thing. I'll look in my old stuff, if I find it I'll post the url.
Love those .41s'

I have heard of people making a jig like this from a piece of .22 barrel, the problem in my mind would be the required heat treating so the file does not chew up your die.  I also have no machinest friends so paying to have this made as a custom job might cost more than it is worth.

Does anyone have a snail mail address for Dennis?

Jim

Did the phone number not work either?

I've not had any contact with him in a good long while but the phone and e-mail were correct then.

I do have a snail mail but will not put it out here in public. Contact me offline and I'll give it to you if the phone line doesn't work but would prefer you try that first as the address I have is an actual street address.

I have one. It's no good for making hunting bullets. Use hollow points instead.  They are definitely far better.

Since Rudy says he doesn't like his maybe he'll sell it to you if Dennis doesn't have any left. I personally prefer the SGBs over HPs for small game hunting. Heck that's why I got one to begin with. CCI quit making SGBs. I bought all I could locate and stock piled them and then got a SGB tool as a back up.
