Cheerleading your T/C purchase

Hi all, I'm new to this room, but I have been reading many of the previous posts of the last few days about the Thompson Encores and I'm wondering if in order to be a part of this room and ask questions do we have to be a cheerleader for the Thompson Center Company and its products? I ask cuz after only 5 posts, Simpleton was nuked by the administrator for expressing discontent with his Encore. Its funny how so many conservative white males in this country complain about political correctness and how the Left attempts to silence them, yet when I come in here the same conservatives that would whine about that are acting like infantile hypocrites by kicking Mr Simple out of the forum for not conforming like the typical gun owning sheeple with their homogenized opinions. Of course, I realize this will be responded as "This is a private forum, if in Rome do as the Romans do!" If thats the case then I dont want to be in here with lemmings.

I think that the main problem with simpleton was that he was really jumping the gun with a lot of his complaints.  He also took what was an issue of quality control, percieved or actual doesn't matter, and took the opportunity to bash a national industry.  I get pretty darn defensive when somebody starts to bash my country.  

The thing is that there are a lot of complaints about encores on this forum.  Most of the time they are legitimate pleas for help or counsel about a specific problem and everyone on here tries to help out.  There are a lot of tricks that can really help with some of the simpler T/C problems.  NOt only that everyone on here admits that there are occasional lemons from all gun manufacturers and those lemons should be sent back and delt with.  

Before simpleton had tried to contact the company, or even shot the gun he was complaining and people tried to help him, but he wouldn't have any of it.  He just wanted to complain, plain and simple.  He had already made up his mind that he didnt like the gun and it was crap.  Never even gave it a chance.  Instead of dealing with things rationally he went off on a tirade about the quality of american workmanship.   He wanted to compare a 450 dollar encore with a 700 dollar browning rifle or 1400 dollar over under shotgun.  He was stiring up trouble, intentionally baiting people into an argument.

My simple answer to you...... if you have a problem with a product and don't want to take any steps to fix it or even deal with it in the normal procedures, fine.  Take that as an opportunity to bash the US, expect some negative reactions.  YOu don't like your encore, fine sell it, you don't like our country, fine move out.

A good suggestion in my opinion would be to just drop it.  :D

Are you aware of TROLLING???  Making 5 posts about the same topic and bashing American production due to some ACCUSED tooling issues on a $500 dollar gun in a forum dedicated to the maker of the $500 gun is TROLLING aka BAITING and is not tolerated on many upstanding forums.

My suggestion is if you do not like our attitude or policies here, go elsewhere.

Well, Well,Well, looks like we've got a crusader in our midst!! Warm up the tar and grab a chicken!!! :twisted:  Seriously though, I think its good to have varying degrees of love for t/c on the site, it helps keep all of our eyes open and at the very least, keeps this from being too much of a love fest. :eek:  I think where simpleton went wrong (well one of the places anyway), was bashing a gun he never shot and complaining about a company he never contacted. We could all fill a book with testimonials of the great service that has gone well above and beyond what could ever be expected of any real world company.  Bottom line, when someone treats me extremely well time and time again, I do tend to get a little defensive when someone else who has no experience with them bashes them. The moral of the story is: disagree, by all means, but at least be able to support your point with sound thought and reasoning. Otherwise how can we have any sort of meaningful discussion. :D

His First Post!  Another troll from Accurate?  Or was it Simpleton himself?  I am surprised he didn't start ranting about Squills.  At the very least I found his immature attack entertaining this morning.  If that is all he came here for....goodbye.  I enjoy talking to nice, positive people here.  And I totally support G.B.s policy of cleaning out the garbage.

BUT to answer the basic question asked before starting to bash like Simpleton did (same person by the way) no it isn't necessary.

I really could care less how well you like or dislike Thompson Center Arms Company. They act as if they don't even know this site exists. They put no money into it and provide no support of any kind to it. I have no obligation to them whatsoever.

BUT they've sure treated me mighty dang good as a customer over the many years I've owned their products. They've gone the extra mile to support me as a customer. Are their products perfect? Nope. But by golly they sure do back them up well when a problem is found. Even when it was my fault (which it was in two cases in which free replacements were given) they still do whatever is needed to make it right.

So to start bashing the company without even firing the gun or contacting them is just plain wrong. I was contacted by multiple members regarding what they felt to be a TROLL and took action accordingly after reading enough to agree. There is no doubt in my mind that the perpetrator is one of those former GBO guys who left when their hero MB was kicked out. They just can't avoid coming back from time to time to try to cause problems. This is just the latest in a long string of such incidences. There will no doubt be more. They just aren't mature enough to move on and let it be. They have to keep trying to stir the pot here. Children will be children.
