Who makes this?

Hi all,
anybody here know who makes this scope mount for the contender? It came on a scope i got on an auction site. It is a spring loaded quick detach and it seems really beefy. No name or marks on it, but i would like to see about getting extra bases for it .  Thanks- Tad

You have a TC quick release mount there.. Thompson Center offered these for folks who wanted to be able to remove a scope, or swich out a scope, without removing the base iteself... you are supposed to be able to closely maintain zero when you re-install your scope. Never tried one to see how well that feature works, i found that when i had one mounted i never took the scope off, so it was a little redundant to have a quick-release mont i never took off the gun.. I had one for a while of a non-braked .35 Rem and it seemed to hold up with rattling apart, my only complaint was it was HEAVY, about twice the weight of a conventional set of rings/bases by leupod & probably 3 times the weight of a weaver base with the proper rings.
8) There is plenty of room for all of God''s Creatures...Right beside the mashed potatoes.. 8)

this is a T/C quick release mount. it was a way to put 1 scope on several barrels. you could get as many bases as you needed then all you needed was the ring part.

t.c no longer sells them, You can see them pop up on ebay from time to time Ed may have some in stock. They are heavy but not as strong as they look under heavy recoil they tend to shift .
