Whew!! 2 out of 3 in CA ain't bad
« on: September 21, 2004, 06:58:40 AM »
The governator has VETOed two anti gun bills :D

The bill requiring fingerprints to buy ammo and the bill increasing the penalties for "criminal" storage of firearms have been defeated.

Thanks to all who kept those cards and letters going to Sacramento :-)   I can vouch for the fact that the fax machine was kept busy for over a week (judging from the continuously failed transmissions during that time).

Sorry about the .50 caliber statewide ban, however.  No one has heard an explanation of why as yet.  The next time someone carries a 40 pound, $5000, bolt action rifle into a bank, I'm sure that we'll hear about it.  Right?

A couple little pecks on the cheek after he punched you in the bum, and now you're all blushing and in love with him again.

UN-FREAKIN'-BE-LIEV-ABLE.

Attention CA gunowners:  Schartzenkennedy IS NOT your friend.
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

I emailed his office regarding the ammo/fingerprint bill.  CWA had information about it in their email newsletter.

Glad to see it died.

Yet another bill did not make it to the Gov's desk.  The bill was to ban gun shows at the state run  "Cow Palace", a large indoor venue.  The reason was that all of those gun owners decending on the neighboorhood was not good for the residents (this is not uptown San Francisco-in fact I wouldn't want to be out alone after dark).

During discussions in the Assembly, it was brought out that the annual Exotic-Erotic Ball was allowed to go on (www.exoticeroticball.com).  The assumption was that these people were good for the neighborhood.

One assemblyman remarked that it didn't kill anyone.  The response was "haven't you heard about aids?".

Yes, we know that the Governator is not a gun lover, but compared to his predecessor Gov Davis, this is much better.  This may make some of our anti-gun legislators think before authoring some of the weird bills that have become standard around here (for example, banning "powerful" ammunition - spell that "magnum")
