Anybody seen the 700 CDL in 35 Whelen?
« on: August 13, 2004, 01:09:49 PM »
It's a special edition for this year. I've been hoping for a 35 Whelen, but this will be hard to get. They're all going to one wholesaler.

I saw it but I'm not a big fan of "special run" editions unless there's a reason to buy it. A .35 Whelen to me is just another 3 series caliber. But I saw it. I hope you can get one!  :D

I haven't seen one except in a picture. I do have one ordered from Grice through a local gunshop. Delivery is said to be in August or September. I'm getting real antsy. I had a 700 classic in 35 Whelen until it was stolen in 1999  :(   I'm ready to hunt with this fine medium bore cartridge once again.

Rifleman, I'm sorry about your loss. I hope you find the SOB that stole it    I feel your pain. I had a pre-70's Model 94 Winchester stolen right out from under our noses. Oh well. What goes around, comes around, right?

Fishman,

Yeah, that's the saying. I'm glad I didn't catch him in the act- it would have gotten real ugly! That 700 was one fine boltgun. Hated to lose it, but it's just "stuff" and life goes on. The rifle is in the NCIC national data base. I'm still hoping it will turn up one of these days. :(

Haven't actually seen one but did put one on order today. Had my dealer contact Grice. He was told they have none in stock and there is a waiting list for them as they come in. I told him to get on the list for me one of them. Dunno when it might become available. Or for that matter if it will since I don't know how many will be made and where on the list I am. But maybe one of these days it will be coming my way.

Remington 700 CDL 35 Whelen

Hi Graybeard,
I just keep hoping Remington sees the response and put this
rifle back into regular production. Then we won't have to beg,
bow and scrape to get a rifle.

Rumor has it that Grice has begun getting the Model 700 CDL 35 Whelen rifles from Remington and they are shipping them. I don't know how long before mine comes in to my local dealer, but the anticipation is building!
