We need a bit more info! What other bolt guns are you speaking of and what does the Savage not do... throw the empty clear of the rifle, theough it far enough away.. The Savage ejector is about the same as the Remington M700 and many others. It is a spring loaded plunger in the keft side of the bolt face. The extractor pulls the empty from the chamber and the plunger working on the left side of the casehead pushes the case neck to the right. As soon as the casemouth clears the ejection port the ejector completely pushes the case out and clear of the extractor and the ejection port. Mausers and some others use fixed ejectors the sit on the inside of the left side of the receiver and the bolt with the case held by the extractor pulls the case to the rear until the casehead impacts the ejector, usually through a slot in the bolt face. This impact throws the case clear of the rifle.. The spring loaded ejectors are pretty much dependant on the ejector springs tension to get the case out of the action. The Mausers ejection can be controlled. Pull fast and the empty goes sailing, pull the bolt rearward saftly and the empty will be laid on the top of the rounds in the magazine. What is the actual problem you see with the action of your rifle.. Perhaps we can help..
