Just say what I say we need scopes to see antlers in low light conditions.
Its true we can see them better with scopes. :D                                                                             BigBill

If its an M96 with all matching numbers even the wood, w/range plate its worth good/very good condition $200 and up to excellent condition $300 but it maybe worth much more in the near future with these getting harder to find.

If its an M38 it maybe worth $25 to $50 more than the M96.

If you have an excellent one you may want to pick up a barreled action from samco and a stock with all the hardware from numrich and scope that one.  Or look for one scoped at a gun show I have seen them selling for around $200 with scope.

Scoping a Swede?

Big Bill gave some excellent advice. You will lose a lot of value in your Swede by drilling and tapping it.Best to go to Wal Mart and buy a Savage 110.Between what you will pay to D&T and buy the scope and rings and the value you will lose on your Swede by altering it,you will come out much ahead by buying a new rifle.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
