An excellent idea, however I feel there is no chance, the political ramifications are to great for any politician to touch it.

No chance,I have one but those power that be on the left will never allow it even though they--like Fienstien --who carries and has for several yeas and was made a Special US Marshall by the old maid--carry.

Zero.

The cops are scared sh_tless of armed Americans, and even more so when they can't tell that they are armed.

Don't wanna upset the little coppers, do we?

After all, unarmed citizens are easier to beat the p_ss out of with a 6-cell.
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

I wrote to President Bush some time ago that I would like to see him push for Federal recognition of our concealed carry permits.  It wouldn't hurt if he and your congress people got similar letters.  Our carry permits should be honored in every state, just like our drivers license.

Folks:  isn't this issue all but settled??  Didn't G.W. sign into law a reciprocity allowance that allows off-duty and retired Police to carry concealed out of state?  I thought he just did that.  If that allowance is now open to LEOs, current and retired, it is not far behind for us.  And let's not forget that in a lot of states LEOs don't have CCWs, their handguns are issued to their badge, which means that a licensed CCW holder has a greater range of travel than would an LEO.  I think what we might see is a push for national recognition of state issued CCWs without all the need for new federal regulations.  Just my 2 cents worth though.  Mikey.

The national CCW for LEO's, current and retired, truely is a "foot in the door" for the rest of us plain ordinary citizens.

And now I'll get politically incorrect...........

I think that, given the present political climate, an across the board national CCW just isn't going to happen....... unless......... terrorist sleeper cells already in place within our country suddenly become very active in many different places for a prolonged period of time. Were that to happen the average citizen everywhere would realize there really is a war going on and would arm themselves accordingly. I hope and pray that war never comes to our country in that fashion since there is very little defense, aside from individual self defense, against such a threat.
The longer I live, the older I get.
Neither has anything to do with wisdom.
