The M29(the A is the post war version) was made from 1929 to 1967.  The 29 had octogon barrels and checkered stocks.  the post war 29's(M29A's??) had round barrels and no checkering.  They are hammerless(actually internal hammers) pump action 22 rimfires.  I've a couple including a M25, the prdecessor to the M29.  They are smooth functioning  and shoot great.  Mine were bought at an estate auction in a box of parts.  Torn completely into pieces. With a M12 Remington 22 pump included.  They were missing a couple of smaller parts and were re-assembled...  Took a while to locate some of the parts but was a great project..  Also included in that box were a couple of SS 22 rimfire actions..$20 sure went a long ways that day..
