Sights for a 35 rem
« on: September 15, 2004, 05:47:07 PM »
I have just bought a Model 336 in 35 Rem I like the way it shoots, but the factory sight leave a little to be desired for my eyes.  I am trying to decide between a scout-style mount and a red dot scope or a reciever sight with a firesight bead.  Any suggestions?  I bought this rifle for pushing brush during mid-day so most shots should be fairly close.

The receiver sight works great on my 35. I have the Williams FP and a green fire sight. It is very easy to shoulder and the sights are right there and that green front sight is very easy to see.

I recently put a 4X pistol scope on a Scout mount on my 336, it strains the eye relief needs a bit but it shoots great.  I just have to remember not to creep forward toward the scope or I lose focus.  I don't think anything but a red dot is faster than a Scout scope if it's set up right.
