Buying a T/C
« on: September 18, 2004, 09:58:56 PM »
I have been interested in buying a T/C for some time. My question is which one to buy. I am mainly interested in building a varmint rifle(coyotes, bobcats) and I am interested in a bull barrell .223. You have the Contender,G2, and Encore and I would like to know what would be my best bet. I also plan on purchasing different calibers for deer hunting, etc. Thanks for any help.

Well, here is what its been generally described of here:

Contender and G2:  Great pistols, a little akward as rifles.

Encore: Great rifle, a little akward as a pistol.

Contender and G2 are made for lighter pressure or smaller caliber while the Encore is built to take just about anything reasonable you can think of.

If your thinking about true deer rounds your gonna want the Encore.  The Contender/G2 have the 45/70, .30-30 and the various pistol calibers suitable for deer hunting.  But the Encore is in the big boy class with everything from the 243 Winchester right up to the .375 H&H.
