Spring Gun rifle scope
« on: September 19, 2004, 05:27:32 PM »
I have just ordered a BSA Airgun Scope ( OSAR312X44) 3-12X44 AO TT from Natchez Shooters supply @ $ 74.86.  From What I've read these are probably good scopes to put on my R9 spring gun.  The velocity is low and probably the recoil will not be as much as the more powerful springers.   Perhaps I should have ask before I ordered it,  will this scope take the recoil of a spring gun?   I have an old El Paso weaver 3x9 with micro-trac turrets which will work, but I wanted that for another gun.

At $ 75 I figured the BSA would be a good gamble.  Anyone have any input?  Don

Some people say it is a good airgun scope, some others say it is not.  It would be nice if you share your experience on this scope for the benefit of the rest of us.  Thank you!

Spring Gun rifle scope

longgun,

I have one on my Tech Force 99M which is a powerful springer(underlever) rifle.  My son in-law has one on his RWS 350M and a good friend has one on his RWS M52 and all of these rifles are notoriously hard on scopes.  BSA completely revamped their rifle scopes less than two years ago and most all the bad reviews you s about BSA scopes are from before that time period.  The BSA scopes have a clear and sharp image to the edge and don’t change POI when changing power levels.  They have a new double locking system to lock the lenses in place.  I like mine and intend to buy more for both air powered and powder burning firearms.  Lawdog
