About Those 7mm08 Light Magnums
« on: September 18, 2004, 06:45:22 PM »
In reply to a previous post I found the data I had on the Hornady LiteMag in 708.
It's loaded with a flattened ball powder that I'm GUESSING is in the H450 or slower range as it's a charge of 51.6 grains. It appears to have a WW primer and its topped off with Hornadys 139g interlock bullet. It also burns very clean.
Velocity out of my 15" Encore averages 2530 and it will shoot under an inch if I do my part.  So now if we can figure out the mystery powder there you'll have it!  One thing I find interesting is that with all the concerns of proper bullet seating depth from the lands for optimum accuracy these shoot as well as my best loads and are .130 off the lands,
and crimped on top of that.
Kinda throws a eyeball in the soup doesn't it.
