T/C Big Boar .58cal rifle wanted
« on: September 04, 2004, 08:06:44 PM »
I have 3 rifles in .58 cal (zouave, hawken, & Musketoon). Since I have several .58 cal molds I want to stay with 58 cal. I would like to buy a T/C Big Boar in fair to good condition as it will not get used much but I want it for my brother to use for deer and possibly elk hunting. Does anybody know where I can get one? It need not be NIB or in new condition just with a decent bore for hunting.

You can also pick up a used T/C Renegade and then repalce the barrel with a GM .58 cal barrel in 1/70" twist.  The barrel is 32", which is longer than the Big Boar but it sure makes a sweet shooting, accurate rifle for round balls.  I picked up a very good used Renegade stock and new T/C lock on eBay for $110 total and the GM barrel from TOTW for $150 for a total of $260 for the whole rifle.

i may be way off base here but look at the edwin marsharal rifle at  http://www.flintlocks.com/rifles02.htm    if you get one youll not need any of the other guns, except to let you relatives borrow it.. (by the way unsurpassed quality)good luck dave.

You can still get a new .58 cal Hawken from the T/C custom shop. Check out www.tcarms.com. Go to the custom shop area of the site. Cost is around 500.00 dollars.
