Rear sight on model 96
« on: April 15, 2004, 12:20:50 PM »
How do you adjust the rear sight on the model 96 FS.  The manual says that it can be moved side to side, but i can't figure out how.  Can anyone tell me how to do it?  Thanks.

coyote sniper - if those are fixed sights, they can be drifted left to right or vice versa to bring the point of impact to point of aim.  Usually done with a hammer and a brass drift.  Let's see, unless I'm wrong, you move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to go, but I get that screwed up every time and usually wind up shooting on somebody elses target (LOL).  Mikey.

mikey is right. Also to raise your point of impact you need to lower
the front or raise the back sight.

KSR,  You have it backwards.  You want to raise the barrel or lower the rear sight in order to shoot higher.  The point of aim will be lower if you do what you wrote.

Not to come along so late but my 96FS is "driftable" but how do I adjust up and down??  I wish it was a adjustable as the Brigadeer (front and rear as I recall) but if I'm missing something please show me how to adjust it.

Anything we (96 FSer's) can do with the front sites?
