My choices have been Pachmayer and Simms.  Both have been very helpful in reducing recoil.

Recoil Pad

I would probably look at either the Simms recoil pad or the Pachmyer Deaccelorator, both work great. I have not been able to find one that is prefit(maybe someone can help us both) for an Encore w/walnut stock, therefore the only option may be a grind to fit pad of either brand. At least on a grind to fit pad you know it's gonna match up perfect.  Good Shooting!

Thanks Tim, I'll be looking for your next post. I'll recheck the Midway catalog, must've overlooked one.

i have a Limbsaver on my 870 and it takes a BIG bite out of the recoil. my only complaint is that it didnt fit the stock exactly...on one side its not wide enough and it leaves about 1/8" of my stock uncovered. but since i use my guns as tools and not decorations it doesnt matter to me.

the recoil reduction is amazing.

I am shooting my 300 win mag in my Encore and the standard recoil pad that is on the Encore is sufficient. I don't find the 300 win mag recoil that bad.  :D
