the big lie
« on: June 27, 2004, 04:29:37 AM »
I saw  an article in the paper [ national wire service] by a group of women begging foe the gun registry to be retained. They had all lost children to the criminal use of firearms and were quoting the government statistics that proved gun related deaths had indeed declined and based on that, the registry was working and shoule be retained.
The Liberals are exploiting these poor folks to their own political advantage , because while that statistic is true- gun related deaths have declined- those 'gun related '' deaths include the largest contingent - suicide- and the statistics show that death by hanging increased  by exactly the same figures that the deaths by firearms decreased. The truth is- not one life has been saved at all. They spent over a billion dollars of our money on the big lie- that the government was ''doing something'' about crime. The only firearms trade thatdid decrease was the legitimate one- the illegal cross border gun trade in restricted weapons contiues unnabated and they're laughing at us
Vote tomorrow and demand accountability- there;s no point bitching on tuesday if you didn't vote on monday

It was the PC's that put this mess in place   the Liberals just carried it on pressured by women's groups.   We just have to convince the voting public to get rid of the registry ...because it is draining the pot and coming up with  nothing.  The Americans are laughing at us!
Tomorrow is another day!

I'll say that I do not believe all Americans are laughing at your system. Some of us are afraid that the liberal/leftists want such a system here and we point out the failures of such a system.

I honestly hope that all the sportsmen and women of Canada are able to get rid of such a stupid system and be able to enjoy their sport and lives with less intrusion.

I was stopped for speding a couple of months ago on my way to shoot gophers.  After checking my drivers licence and registration, the officer asked me what was in the case.  I told her it was a gun (.22) and she asked if it was registered.  It was not ( I had just recieved it from a friend, who got it from a friend - should be easy to trace!!).  She then went to her car, came back and told me I was free to go - no ticket for anything.   They are scared to prosecute anyone for this registry.  I am thinking of carrying that gun in my truck all the time!!

FYI:  they arrested a man at a dryden gun show last month; he was openly advertising selling a unregistered .22 . He has been trying to get arrested and charged under sec95/1, which they did. Problem... he's one of the formost gunsmiths in his area; part of his bail conditions is that he is not to have any contact with firearms. since gunsmithing is his family's main source of income, they have essentially put him out of business.
you wanna take my guns? go ahead, it's your arm!
