Well, the trip went fairly well. Except for losing my cell phone and nearly getting bitten by a rattlesnake, we had a great time. Here are some of this weekend's casualties.
My brother was first up and took this nice little boar of about 80 pounds.
My dad's turn came next, and he crept up on this nice 130 pound boar and shot him with his Winchester Apex muzzleloader. Unfortunately, he had him all skinned out before I showed up with the camera.
Just after that picture was taken, we heard some pigs grunting in the brush a couple hundred yards from the meat shed. I grabbed my Encore muzzleloader and Dad and I snuck up on a herd. I managed to shoot this 115 pound sow at about 50 yards. Her white guard hairs made her relatively easy to see by moonlight.
Dad left early, but my brother and I stayed another night. Not long after sunset, he heard pigs munching corn from his stand and climbed down. After circling to get the wind right, he snuck up on this nice 105 pound boar and shot him at 30 yards with his rifle.
After tending to that meat, he and I made another round. We checked several baited sites before we found one with pigs. We crept within about 40 yards of five pigs and I shot this 100 pound sow with my Encore.
