Does this count?

My Bow is 70lbs ready, and shooting like it should. Hopefully 10/02/04 AM will bring a willing whitetail within my range.
I've split two arrows in the last 12 days so I'm good to go!

Put two in the freezer beginning of last month.  Not the NEF, used the Winchester 88.  Two shots, two deer.  Thank God from Whom all blessings flow...

I've been out bow hunting twice after work. Nothing yet ... still trying for my first bow kill. I had 4 doe come in range but I didn't feel good about the shot so I let them pass. They were 35 yards out and although I could have made the shot I felt is was just to far to risk it.The second time I kicked up two nice deer heading into the woods. One was a buck and didn't seen the head of the other. Then later in the day I had 8 to 10 does and fawns out in the field near my stand.  I watched them until the sun went down.

Seasons been in here since August 15.  I've only gotten 1 so far.  Next Saturday is an either sex day on public land, so hopefully that'll work out well.

JohnDY,

I hope you get your first one! The potential effectiveness of a well placed broadhead still amazes me. I've had deer run further after being shot through the vitals with a .270 Win., than after being hit with the broadhead of one of my arrows. I took one small buck who ran only about 15 yds. after impact, and I watched him topple over.

I still gotta wait a few more days, yet!

JohnDY, Let me compliment you on not taking a shot you didn't feel good about.  That makes you a responsible hunter.  These grand animals we hunt deserve only the best of our abilities.  Luck be with you.

Bow seasons been open since 9/15 here in CT. I've been out 5 times and although there's been plenty of action, I haven't had a shot yet.

I've come closest to a couple of Turkeys...Actually drew on one, but she was old and wise and clucked the group to the the roost!!

Although the deer are moving, and abundant, I haven't put myself in the right place yet...I learn a little more each nite though!!
