I love shooting warthogs and although I have never shot a real monster Vark I have taken a few nice ones. Here are the five biggest So far. I would travel to anyplace in Southern Africa for the chance at a real monster Warthog!

I hunt in Africa at my lodge almost exclusive with a 375HH and sometimes a 30/06.  These warthogs will measure about 13-16" RW measure. Or 30-46 SCI. When I say a monster hog I'm talking about a 16Plus RW score or a 50 plus SCI score

What did you use on these warthogs, the 375 or 30 06?   Also, which is tougher to bring down, the African Warthog, or the European/American Wild Boar? 8)

The bigger wild boar is much harder but any of them shot poorly will give you trouble!

This is my first Warthog, notice his smile.   Warthogs or "pigs" as my P.H. called them are great fun to watch and hunt and their attitude makes them comical.    To me they were one of the more enjoyable animals to watch and always brought a smile to our faces as we watched their antics.
There is no such thing as over kill!!!!  :-)

Sounds like a blessing to me. The only African animals I have any interest at all in taking are warthog, impala, cape buffalo, and crocodile.  (Well, maybe a 200+ pounds on a side elephant, but let's get real here.)

Okay...here is mine....again for some of you.

Bow kill....would be #4 OVERALL for Archery.  Length 14 5/16" 14 1/16"   circumference   4 5/16"     4 4/16"    TOTAL 36 15/16"

Poor guy had no bottom teeth.  I got to see him get his butt kicked by a bigger bodied pig with much smaller teeth.  This was on a free ranging Ranch in the Eastern Cape.

LW:  Shot my 375 H&H with 260 grain AccuBond. 130 (broadside shoulders) and 310 yards (quartering away).

5R8:  Gorgeous beastie. The ground was so hard and rocky everywhere we went in Namibia, we never saw any good pigs with points-they were all heavy and rounded off.
