i am looking for a new contender there are two options in our local gunshops one 7-30 waters and one 22 hornet both 400 dollars  both in great shape if i could get some oppinions it would be great maby a preferance on calibers

It really depends on what your planning on doing with your Contender I have a 7-30 Waters barrel for my Contender and a 22 Hornet for my Encore you really have to know what your plans are for use.  I'd buy the one thats in better shape if thats a choice or the SS one over the blued but thats just me.

If you are looking for something for IHMSA...
The 22 Hornet would be ideal for field pistol providing it has a 10" bbl.
You would do excellent with the 7/30 waters for big bore.

thanx allot what would your oppinyon on the 45-70 for ihmsa the guys at the range ok me  to shoot one at matches
