Moe:

Sounds like you had a successful visit to Jenson's... :D

I use 12.0 grains of Blue Dot under a cast (Lee) 210 SWC in my Blackhawk.  Tried other powders, but settled on Blue Dot.  Have yet to get and try some XTPs.  There's lots of data out there, you should get a bunch of replies to this post.

Lotsa luck,
Dennis In Ft Worth

Moe,
I use 8.5 grs. of unique for all around plinking, Its still good enough to get the job done. It kinda smokes up your revolver a little but its not hard to clean up.. This is with 210 gr.SWC. I find it to be accurate. Hope this helps.

Finally got the 41 today. It was a bit of a hassle on my end, but its here now. Just have to get out and shoot it. Have 50 rounds loaded in various loads/bullets. It handles real nice, hope it shoots half way decent. Think I will drop it off at Reeders next month for at least an action job. Don't know for sure what accuracy to expect from a revolver. I shoot mostly TC stuff except for .22's

Dennis is on the right track with Blue Dot. I've put several thousand rounds of cast 215 swc with 11.0 Blue Dot through a Smith 657. I get 1100 fps from the 8 3/8 barrel. This is an excellent, accurate, mid-range load. You can go hotter, of course. I don't recommend Blue Dot for maximum performance but for day-in, day-out shooting with loads that are above the "target-only" level, it's great.
