Uberti High Wall question
« on: September 29, 2004, 12:55:58 PM »
I've asked Uberti and gotten no response, so if anyone know's, I'd be appreciative.

What kind of pressure is the Uberti Highwall in 45-70 rated for, I don't want to go blowing myself or my rifle up.

I know the original Winchesters were the subject of much abuse by people testing loads, and are a fundamentally strong design, but I can not see to find any info on the UBertis.

Thanks in advance.

Parker.
um, er, yeah.  okay.

Parker

Why in the world would you ask this question?

1 If you stuff it with BP you can't get enough powder in it to hurt it

2 If you are using the new fangled stuff use the load data published in any reloading manual

3 If you are doing anything else why would any one help you do it?

From what I can tell the Uberti is as strong as the old Winchester actions and with the use of modern steel may be stronger (America does not have a lock on high grade guns and Uberti is owned by Beretta )

If you do not have a Uberti I will tell you mine is accurate and I would buy one again if I found a good deal on an interesting caliber, If you do for gods sake follow the load data.

Powderflask-

I was wondering whether it would be safe to put either garret loads or buffalo bore through it.

But thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.

Parker.
