Any current experiences with Accubonds?
« on: September 28, 2004, 02:00:54 PM »
I have been shooting Nosler Accubonds (140gn) out of my 280 for a few weeks.  Excellent accuracy!  But I have heard one guy gripe about their bad copper fouling in his barrel.  I have not noticed anything effecting my accuracy (although I have only shot about 50 of em so far).  How have you guys faired?

I posted a question in the "Product General Discussion" forum asking in general if people liked the Accubond, especially compared to the partition. How does it shoot? How does it hold up, especially to an elk? Any particular positives or gripes?

I have not hunted with them yet.  From what I read, in a comparison of bonded bullets, in one of the gun rags it held up just like it was supposed to in their tests.  But I don't think they have been out long enough for people to have tested them much in hunting.

Just now beginning to shoot some. Loaded up three different loads using the Nosler 180 Accubond in my R700 LSS Mtn. Rifle. Two of the three loads shot MOA or better. The rifle just plain didn't like the third using RL-22. The two powders it did like were AA Magpro and AA2700. This one could very well become my go to load in the '06.
