I have been in need of a new 22 rifle for a couple of years now. I first did a lot of research and thought I had decided on a CZ. After giving the subject more thought I chose to go with the Marlin 981t because it has more realistic features for the intended uses of squirrel hunting and casual target shooting. I do have quite a bit of experience with firearms, and have won the rimfire pistol league at a local range 3 times. I ordered a rifle basix trigger for this rifle before I recieved it, I will install it before I ever shoot the gun. For anyone who has experience with target shooting a crisp light trigger pull is a must! I also have ordered a BSA Sweet 17 3-12X44AO scope and B-square rings. I looked at several of the more expensive scopes suggested on this forum. What I learned is that all of the scopes I looked through except the Sweet 17 had the same problem of the crosshairs going out of focus as the magnification increased. With the AO on the BSA I could easily keep both the target and the crosshairs sharply focused. I will post results and my opinions as soon as I get this new set-up to the range for some testing.
