I have aquired a TC scope.
It has what appears to be a picitinny rail made onto it on the bottom
it's only marking is rp2.5
does anyone know what kind of base or rail i need to put this on my
super 14" 30-30

Yes. It is a Thompson / Center Recoil Proof pistol scope. I have one that has been on my T/C Hawken muzzleloader.

Thompson / Center makes the base for this scope. You may have to call them to find a stocking dealer for these bases. The only problem I have had with mine is the lighted recticle has gone out. I'm not sure if it's the battery ot the scope. It still works fine, just no lighted recticle.

Had a battery go dead on one of my Thompson scopes. E-mailed TC and they gave me the battery number plus some alternatives.

Found what I needed at the local Radio Shack for a very good price :shock:

I have three of those scopes. T/C doesn't sell them anymore nor do they list the base in there catalog anymore. Fox Ridge used to sell the scope and mount but they do not list that scope or mount anymore either. As for the battery going out, as with any thing that contains a battery it should be removed for long term storage so that it doesn't leak in the unit. I always keep a few extra in my gun box and also have one in my day pack. I seldom shoot the barrels that these scopes are mounted on anymore. Maybe BullBerry or Ed's Contenders has a base laying around from an old barrel. BTY they are good scopes, have one on a 14 inch 45-70 that has taken everything I have loaded with out a hitch.
