I love salmon and everytime i buy a slab I cut off some small pieces (raw) off the end before cooking and save them for racoon bait.  I know its expensive but they really like it and its just the end piece of the salmon that always overcooks anyways!

Garzaglass:  All animals certainly respond to specific species of fish over other species, some fish species will get no response at all.  To us a fish smells like a fish regardless of what species but there is obviously a different odor to the animal's keen sense of smell.  Ace
