Has anyone weighed their Contender with a Bullberrry  barrel & forearm?  Is it possible to keep weight below 7.25 pounds with a 4-12 scope?
Thanks

I will weigh mine but are you talking a specific length and profile. Mine are bull barrels and 21".........another consideration is caliber.....bigger the bore the lighter overall weight of the gun. I have a .221, 6mm and a .357 and there is a difference.

mek613,

I have a 22" bull barrel 6 TCU Contender with a Bullberry stock with a 10.5" forend. It has a Simmons 3.5x14 scope with Weaver rings and base.

As best as I can weigh it on our bathroom scale it is 8 lbs. A larger caliber would weigh less because of less steel in the barrel, also any wood stock set would vary in weight. You could also save some weight with another scope.

I think that you could get right at 7 1/4 lbs. with the right setup.

Thanks for checking.  I don't know anybody that has a contender & I just wanted to know if 7.5 lbs was possible.  I think it would be.  I just want to keep it light enough for squirrel hunting.  As a walk  around rifle.  I know there are other rifles that would work. I love the 22 mag and the contender intrigues me.
