Handled one today at Jay's and was very impressed.  Good fit and finish and only $500.  This one had the 5 1/2" bbl with the delux blue (it's really blue, not black) and walnut grips.  I think the "case colors" were chemical but looked good.  The gun was a real beauty.  The transfer bar safety is very unobtrusive and doesn't rattle like a RV.  It's a little non-traditional not having a firing pin in the hammer face, but that didn't seem to stop the 50's tv westerns when they used the old Great Westerns.  I liked the trigger pull, it felt quite clean.  I especially liked the feel of the wide curved trigger (always had fantasys of twirling a gun-you could do it with this one).  This looks like an excellent woods and cowboy gun, and I like the idea that I could "occasionally" load 6 for a woods gun.  Don't get me wrong, I do like my Rugers, BUT they sure do feel big and clunky after handling this Beretta.  Look's like I'm going to have to belly up and buy one of these!  44 Man

they sure feel nice but the color casing is probably some of the worst ive seen?  I wonder if they are as rugged as RV's

I'm sure with the Beretta name, that they should hold up well, Ubertis always have.  They are a SAA sized gun, so you won't be shooting any extra heavy Ruger type loads in them.  I used to load .45 colt up for my Ruger BH, but only shoot loads of 255gr, 950fps tops any more.  I've found that load will do anything I want to do with a belt gun.  44 Man

I have seen and handled a few of these, and I thought the Case coloring was at least as good as colt! and better tan a lot of the expensive clones.
The best I have seen on a pistol was on a ruger though the Vaqueros have a nice color case.

It is my not-so-humble opinion that the Stampede is what the Colt Cowboy should have been and for less money, and I'm not even a Beretta fan.

Fired my 4 3/4 Stampede last sunday........great shooter. Used Remington 230gr SWC. Shot point of aim at 15 Yards and held about a 2 1/2 " group.
Love the look of it and the  "feel" is as close to Colt as you can get w/o dropping big Bucks on one. No complaints at all.

MM: Have you had a chance to measure the cylinder & bore to determine what they are? i.e., 452.5in the cylinders to whatever in the

I've got to say - I've had my Beretta Stampede now for a month and I LOVE it!  :-D   I have not had any problems so far except  for getting used to the pin that goes through the cylinder.  It's very hard to get back in.  Other then that - IT'S GREAT!  Now I'm having a tooled western holster that I picked up tooled with my logo to go with the Stampede.  Now with my civil war cap, black custom made boots, and new tooled holster with log - I'm ready to join the SASS and go shooting!  :grin:

OK Guys!
New question!  I have the new Beretta Stampede and JUST LOVE IT!   :lol:   Now I would like to know, can I practice with it doing Dry Firing?  Can I do that or would that hurt the pistol?  I've heard different statements and can't find anything about it on Uberti's webpage.  Last night I was watching "The Professionals" and was cleaning my 92 rifle and Beretta Stampede and I dried fired a couple of times.  Thanks!

I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy, so I just use snap caps when I dry fire.  Even my Ruger Redhawk gets snap caps, and Ruger plainly states that I don't need them.  It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy to have those little shock absorbers in there when I drop the hammer.  Plus, it gives you an extra chance to triple check that no live rounds are in the gun.  Snap caps are very cheap, easy to find, and they will protect your investments.  If none of your local gunshops carry them, try:
