I have been beating this subject up to much, but this board seems to have a few fans of the k-22 to 617. My tired old eyes need more help than the standard target rear sights offered. Brownell offers some white outline rear sights for $63+ we are close to a red dot here (with out the rail). S&W offers a insert for +$10 plus freight, its white outlined p/n

Jim, I just got onto this thread and do not what has been discussed.  But I was wondering if you have looked into the Hi-Viz sights.  S&W has put them on several production models, it has a rear v notch and a hi viz front site and is very easy to acquire.  If this has been discussed already, sorry for wasting your time.

I have some high vel fronts on a lever, I would not want these on a 6" barrel used for target and plinking. However have not received the inserts from S&W. Need to get snow pac for front sight.

Are you having problems seeing the rear sight in dim light, or in normal light? The white outline can help in dim light but may actually be counterproductive in most situations. You may want to switch to a ghost ring rear sight instead.

I have several handguns with target rear sights( white out line) it is easier for me to align the target with the target rear sights this way. Hey!! I am over 60 and still shooting.
