Deerstalker nipple replacement questions
« on: October 11, 2004, 04:33:31 AM »
I've been scanning this forum looking for ideas.

I had a bunch of misfires this weekend when shooting my Deerstalker.

I have replacement lyman nipples, but not on hand...so I didn't just do a swap out while shooting.

Anyway, I know people have suggested other alternatives.

What are my choices for replacement nipples?  Both standard 11 cap styles, musket cap styles, and .209 styles (if they make them).

Also, how do you tell when a nipple is "done?"

Knight muzzelloading makes a proper threaded #11 nipple.  Im looking into picking one up myself for my deerstalker.

Try shooting blackpowder - if you aren't already - it tends to ignite easier than most.
