Hog Light?
« on: October 08, 2004, 06:30:27 PM »
Thinking of getting a hog light/lamp to put on my feeder.  I've got a lot of hogs coming in after dark and want to put some on the grill.  Anybody got any lights they like/dislike.  Also, thought about one of those "nightblasters" that attach to the scope, but I've not heard much on these either.

Thanks :D

I can't help on the feeder light question but here is a link on the scope light.  In fact, it is a thread on this page already.

For feeder lights you can go to www.texasboars.com .The guy that has this web site also builds feeder lights. They also have forums, good group of people. I have a night blaster that I use sometimes and and it works real good. The one I have is the smallest, dont remember the model, but when you use the red filter you are limited a little on range. If I were to buy another I would go with the 250 yard model. Howie1968 has been using the night blaster longer than me and has differant sizes, maybe he can give you more info.

hello   I  have  both  the  optronics 100 yard compact and the 250 yard night blaster  i like both   but  they are  for  2 different uses.  the choice depends on a few criteria
1. yardage at which you shoot
2. if you use  the red lens or not
If you are shooting at 50 yards or less  with the red lens  then go with the compact,  it does not have to be focused  and  is a whole lot lighter, it puts  out enough light  to cleanly see a hog  at 75 yards.  if  you are shooting farther than 50 yards with the red lens  whuich  i recomend  then  get either the 250 0r  the 350 model   at  about 80 yards with the red lens attatched  you can clearly  see  a  hog{I use cheap scopes}  so  if you have a decent scope it will make a great combo  hope  this  has helped
