Doesn't that barrel have a 1-in-48" twist? If so, that twist should work real well with shorter bullets, less than 0.78" in overall length for shooting at ranges around 100 yds. or so. I like the 300 gr. CVA Buckslayer in mine, but you might also try the 320 gr. T/C Maxiball or Lee R.E.A.L. I get good results with a lubed felt wad over the powder when using a solid-base bullet like the Maxiball, but the Buckslayer is a hollow-base, so no wad is used. Experiment with charges of about 85-95 gr. Goex 2F or equivilant. Works for me.
The 1:48 twist is not really ideal for roundballs, even though sometimes the right load combination can surprise you, especially with reduced loads so the ball isn't spun so fast. For plinking at about 50 yds. or less it's easy on the shoulder and inexpensive. For hunting, I'd rather use the slugs.
Have fun!
