Light hammer strikes
« on: October 12, 2004, 01:45:03 PM »
I just took my first contender out to the range 4 the first time.
Its used, 22lr bbl.
I had a couple failure to fires. Light strikes on the primer was my guess they worked the second time I tried.
Any advise as to main spring replacement weights?

Is there a web site that goes into the mechanics of the pistol?

Light primer strikes are usually an indication of incomplete lockup. The locking lugs are not engaging deep enough to move the hammer block. Try closing the action a little more briskly and see if the problem goes away. If it does its a simple matter of sanding/stoning the locking lugs a little to let them engage a little farther.  KN
