Leftoverdj: you can get another surplus barrel from Numerich or probably any of the other parts houses but all you would end up with for $40 is another mil-surp barrel which may not shoot any better than the one you have now. For not a heck of a lot more you can get a new barrel from someone like the Montana Rifleman and either install it yourself and play around with it until you get the headspace right, or send them your action and have them do the gunsmithing for you. Most custom barrel makers guarantee their work and product, including service. And, you would have a nice, tight, brand new mirror finished hand lapped bore that should shoot like a dream.
