well guys i found a club to join in my area. they are the cherokee ridge runners in cherokee iowa. a great group of people. when i told them that i was old to black powder shooting but new to buckskinner clubs they got intrested in getting me in. the really cool thing was when i said the only side lock rifle i had was a cva bobcat with a synthetic stock that shoots 3/4 of an inch groups at 50 yrds with 50 grains goex fff they said no big deal. the president of the club said he has always wanted to inlet a piece of wood for a stock to see if he could do it. he does alot of wood working and my plastic stock gives him a good excuse to try it. these guys are great. they had the attitude that if a 55 dollar wal mart special can shoot that good then they can help me get wood on it. ill still probably save a few dollars and get a hawken style rifle down the road but that doesnt mean i cant shoot both at the club shoots.
