i was looking at the local gunshop an saw a ruger redhawk .454 for 400 is that good how much will it kick

I would buy it for that price.

It will kick a lot with factory loads.

If you are worried about the kick try getting some reduced loads form winchester. The energy and velocity are like the 44 mag. They should kick like one too.

Why not toss another $100 in and buy my RB454 I have listed for sale? Recoil of the SRH in .44 Mag is more than the RBs in .454 or .480 either. I'm even tossing in a scope base at no extra cost and I can assure you this one is a really nicely accurate gun. I've used it on 400 yard plates about 12" square and did nicely hitting them after finding the hold over.
