Cabela's price works out to $9 a 50.  That is the same price as Nachez.  I would not buy 500 at first.  In my 14" barrel the CCI 17 Gr bullet does not group very well.  The Hornady 17 Gr bullet does much better and the Hornady 20 Gr. bullet is better yet.  Some folks have better luck with the CCI.  I would not buy 500 rounds until I did some testing.

Nachez has the Hornady (either bullet weight) for $8.55 per 50.

MidSouth prices on 17HMR per box:

Hornady 20's 7.84
Hornady 17's 8.00
CCI V-Max and TNT 8.31
Federal TNT 8.41
Federal V-Max 8.43

FWIW - both my Bullberry carbine and Marlin VS like the Hornady V-Max's and CCI TNT's pretty even - only a slight shift in POI.

BTW, their 17M2 is 5.33 for Hornady and 5.00 for CCI.

Just got in 2 cases (4000 rds) of Hornady 17M2 from MS and will be trying them out tomorrow with the Contender.   Already have on hand some CCI to compare to.
