Miniature Martini Rifle Cyber MatchPurposeThe purpose is to get these historical old guns out of the closet and back shooting in the typical old historical "Tinhat Matches.
CategoriesService Rifle Cadet Military training Martini type action miniature rifle with original battle sights, including Greener or Bonehill converted Martini-Henry with Service sights or Martini-Henry with service sights and subcaliber insert.
.310" Cadet or .297/.230" or similar miniature caliber center-fire rifle original chambering, including .22 rimfires.
Rotten bore/obsolete ammunition rule. Rifles may be rechambered to remove a rotten chamber or to compensate for obsolete ammunition or relined to remove a rotten bore. If rechambered due to rotten chamber or obsolete ammunition i.e. .310 to 32-20. 297/230 to .22 Hornet or K-Hornet, the original bore must be used. The firing pin may be bushed for the higher-pressure ammunition. No other alterations may be made to the rifle of any type. Historically altered rifles excepted. (Bonehill etc.)If relined due to rotten bore the rifle must be rechambered in the original historically correct caliber. i.e. .297/230 Morris that has been rechambered to .22 Hornet. If relined then it must be rechambered back to .297/230 Morris.
Classic Sporting Rifle. Any sporterized Small Martini type action rifle using Iron sights intended for sporting or hunting purposes.

Classic Target MartiniAny pre - 1919 military or target Martini; e.g. Bonehill, Greener or BSA models up to 12 (a Model 13, which is technically out of class, is really a lightweight 12 and will be allowed) using target style aperture rear sights of the appropriate age may be used with blade or barleycorn foresight.

Veteran Target MartiniAny pre - 1946 Martini Service or target rifle; e.g. BSA's up to and including model 12/15 or Vickers Standard / Empire. Aperture sights of the appropriate age may be used both front and rear: (no perspex foresight elements for instance).

MatchesProne Match Slow fire 10 rounds N.S.R.A. "Tin Hat" target five bull target.
Timed fire, 10 shots in 2 minutes, N.S.R.A. "Tin Hat" five bull target. Timed fire to be started with breech open (and empty) and a round in the fingers. At the command "Commence", load and fire two shots at each bull.
Range 25 yards.
Separate Match for each Category
Standing Match Slow fire 10 rounds N.S.R.A. "Tin Hat" 2 bull.
Timed fire, 10 shots in 2 minutes, N.S.R.A. "Tin Hat" two bull target. Timed fire to be started with breech open (and empty) and a round in the fingers. At the command "Commence", load and fire 5 shots at each bull.
Range 25 yards.
Separate Match for each Category
Target Scoring. Standing target scoring ring values are: Centermost 10X, next outward 10 then 9, 8, 7, and outer most 6. No score for shots out of the rings. Shots score the highest value for any ring touched by shot.
Cross fired Shoots. Cross-fired shoots by the shooter: score the 5 lowest valued shots on the target. Cross-fired shoots by another shooter, disregard the shoots if they can be identified or refire the target. Refire only the cross-fired target not the entire string.
Equipment allowedMilitary shooting jacket with padded elbows and shoulder.
Standard two point military sling.
Glove not permitted
Prone Shooting Position. Standard military prone with use of sling permitted. rifle supported only by shoulder and both hands. No part of rifle permitted to be supported by any other means.
If physically unable to shoot from the prone position because of range restriction or personal physical limitation may shoot from bench as long as rifle is supported only from hands and shoulder.
Standing Shooting Position. Standard military standing position with use of sling not permitted. Rifle supported only by shoulder and both hands. No part of rifle permitted to be supported by any other means.
If physically unable to shoot from the standing position because of range restriction or personal physical limitation may shoot from a stool as long as rifle is supported only from hands and shoulder and shoulders and arms are not supported.
Competition. Score on target. High score wins

ddgofer@hotmail.com. Your email message must state if you want to shoot in the Standing match or the Prone match. A mass emailing of the targets and rules will be sent out to all persons who sign up about January 15th. You may also sign up after that date. The mass mailing will have instructions on where to mail your targets. The Match ends April 15th and will be scored after May 1.
