I'm considering getting a Remington Model 7 in 7mm short action mag and was wondering if anyone has one and your thoughts on this set-up

I think that it's a wonderful concept - a powerful, flat-shooting, .284 grain bullet - capable of dropping game up to and including elk, and all in a nice compact and lightweight rifle.

My only concern is, well, the SAUM chambering.  How long will it live? :?   It appears that the WSM, specifically the 300 WSM and 270 WSM, will live relatively longer lifes, but I have serious concerns about the SAUMs.

I had Model 7s in .243 and .308. They are great light hunting rifles. However, the muzzle jump with the .308 was dramatic! I could barely manage a 150gr load and anything bigger the rifle would almost buck out of your grip. I sold it.
I would think the 7mm SAUM would be similar or worse. I would consider a Magna Port to help neutralize the muzzle jump or reconsider getting one in .260 or 7mm/08.
