Ok- I am looking for a part for a horten....
« on: November 16, 2004, 09:44:16 AM »
Hi Guys- :D  I have a horton hunter that I have had forever. Its good to me... I have a firend that wants to buy the front arrow hold down like I have on mine. Horten no longer makes em' or has em'. We live close enough to the factory that we went there. I doubt that they are the only ones to have made them and would like to know what they are called and who might have them available. TIA- paul

All I can suggest is some shops may have them as excess stock. You might try

http://www.archersnook.com/  They ship world wide .

TThis another reason I have an Excalibur. All the parts were available last year for my 1987 Wolverine.

:D tallpaul, The part you are looking for is called a Arrow Flight Tuner part no#AC107.

Your chances of finding one other then from a used archery bin in some archery shop is almost 0...They stopped making them a few years a go and I know of no other xbow that used them.

You could however make your own but it is not needed. If not adjusted proper it can cause more problems then what it was intended to fix which was better broadhead flight from fixed blades.

Will keep my eyes open for one..

Thanks for the info- My friend wanted one after he saw my set-up, more for the added security of thearrow when flipping around while walking with the bow. He's one of my best friends even if he is insisting he wants one even if not justifiable... what can I say we are opinionated! God Bless -paul

As a added security of holding the arrow/bolt in place I agree with ya!, I have a few buds that use Horton and know a couple of bow shops close to me that JUST might have one laying around and I will check for you.

I done checked my older xbow parts for one but nutten..Will get back at ya..let us know if you find one first.

tallpaul I checked with the three shops close to me and they had nothing...they told me horton stopped that part in 94-95 and no 2nd or 3rd partys made it.

Best bet will be to make your own, the spring metal part/finger is easy to find with the arm, but you would have to make your own bracket for it. I will keep watching for ya!
