My names Mr. Wright, I'm 77 years old and I'm trying to find some information on a blackpowder rifle. It was my fathers passed onto me. It's a Huntsman 12 ga black powder rifle. Does anyone know where I can find some history as far as age and value so that I may insure it before passing it to my son. I tried Harrington and Richards which took over the Huntsman company some time ago. All I have is an estimated age of over 100 yrs old and a serial #. When I ask around many don't have files due to the federal gov not requiring muzzleloader registy at that time. If anyone could help me with this search I would appreciate it. This interests me greatly and wish to do some research my self before using an appraiser I will if I have to use an appraiser as a last resort, when all else fails. Thankyou all for your time.
