There's also a forum on here for single shot rifles in general.  I'm sure any discussion of the Rossi's would be welcome there.

rossi's arent garbage, i've never had one mess up on me and it is mostly all i hunt with is a rossi. oh and...it didnt help me any. nothing personal butif rossi made a 45/70 i'd buy it before and h&r so i didnt have to lug a 7 lb gun around the woods. they will shoot just as good as any H&R. to thoseof you who actually helped me out , thank you

single shot don't take it personal. Some of the guys on here get way too upset when you mention anything other than a H&R/NEF. They seem to feel threatened like their jobs are on the line or something. H&R makes good guns, I own and use them. I also own and use Rossi. I have a NEF 243 and a 20ga pardner. I have a 20ga./223 Rossi and I am carrying a Rossi revolver in my pocket as I type this. It is not unAmerican to buy a Rossi regardless of what some on here will tell you. Just roll with the punches and don't worry about it.

Single shot shooter, I also have a Rossi 22 mag single shot in the Stainless finish. It had the black painted stock, but i stripped the paint off and refinished it with stain and tru oil,and it has some of the most beautifull wood I have ever seen.It also shoots very well(1.250 10 shot groups at 75 yards). It has gutted several tree rats with Winchester Super X hollowpoints. It is super light weight, so I take it out often in the woods with me.I removed the sights and filled the holes with the stainless filler screws, added a silver finish Thompson center contender scope rail, and a silver finish Simmons 22  mag scope. I also own several H&R and Nef rifles also , I think everyone likes something different also. some people like Browning A bolt rifles, but I don't,etc. When I was buying my nef handi in 357 mag recently there was also a Rossi in 357 mag in the rack, it had a extractor instead of a ejector and i came real close to buying that rifle, but i liked the laminated stock on the nef.I have noticed some of the earlier rossi rifles were finished real roughly, but the ones i have seen recently have been finished very nicely. The thing i like about rossi is they offer most of their rifles in stainless or blued.     I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS SAYING.......... OPINIONS ARE LIKE BELLY BUTTONS MOST EVERYONE HAS ONE. shoot what you like my brother. :D

I guess it didn't come through......but I'm only kidding!

It was just a joke!

Enjoy your Rossi if that's what you like.

SSS,
When I saw your post I thought I would recommend to get in touch with SafetySherrif, he is a big fan of Rossi.  But I see he has already got himself in trouble.  Don't take him serious.  He can't say Savvvvvvvv...Savvvvvv. Savage either, there I said it.  Heck, I even own one too.

goinf after a handi in the morning. gonn find me one in .44 mag and eventually either get a 45-70 or an accesory 45-70 bbl. took the rossi out today to shoot it ( allways shot specials in it....44) but decided to shoot some mags and it kinda kicks, has a short 16 1/2" bbl and pretty light guess that all adds up to a  bit of recoil.  but i'm gonna add a pad to it and then i'm gonna get me a handi to toy with.:)

ss shooter,it's a shame they covered up that wood with black paint because it seriously looks nice.If they are going to paint it black why not go ahead and put a plastic stock on it.I like to refinish stocks on my rifles to make them mine anyway.I kind of wish I would have bought the Rossi 357 instead of the Nef now because the firing pin seems to be puncturing the primer every 5 shots or so. The scope rail holes are not drilled correctly, when I mount the scope it it is off to the right side.NO guys I am not dreaming this up I used to be a machinist.I plan on calling NEF tommorow to see if i can get these problems fixed since I bought it new 2 months ago.I guess it was my time to get one with a few problems, but over all i have been satisfied with their products.I just hope it won't be a pain in my backside. :(

rossi are decent guns... when the stocks are fat and somewhat "odd" looking to me a break out the sandpaper and files and cut loose on it. i'll be re-doing the stock and forend (refinishing and reshaping and thinning) on my Handi when i get it
