Mosin Nagant caliber change?
« on: February 02, 2007, 06:38:24 PM »
With the prices of the M44s so low I thought they would make a good donor for a .45-70, Has anyone ever seen one done in this cal? Or know of any info? I think a 24" barrel would make a nice deer rifle. 8)

Most people don't consider the M/N to be worth the efffort . SMLE's are cheap and a better candidate. They are a standard platform to work with in Canadfa and Australia.
Not trying to talk you out of it . I love mine. Accurate and fun. I download to 300 Savage levels and it is a joy to shoot. If you do some mods, I would love to hear about it.

Your right ther Mox, but you can buy 2 or3 M/Ns for the price of one enfield, If it can be done it might be a good way to own an inexpencive .45-70 bolt gun. 8)
