New (to me) marlin 94 .44 mag - Questions
« on: December 13, 2004, 02:07:56 PM »
Hi All!

I recently aquired a pre-safety 1894, .44mag, and I have a couple of questions.

1) The loading gate on this gun is loose(the screw is all the way tight), is there some way to fix this? or will I have to order a new one?

2) I am curious as to when this gun was made. the serial number is 2512####.

Any Help is greatly appreciated!! THANKS!!

You can order a new flat spring from Brownells.com.  You will have to disassemble the receiver to replace the spring.  Disassemble is no big deal.   I'd be glad to give instructions if you need help......Or, while your ordering the spring.....Order the video "The Complete Marlin Rifle, Disassembly and Assembly.......Midway has the video if brownell's doesn't.  There is quite a bit of fluff in the video and it could easily be squeezed down to 20 minutes or so of the stuff you really need to know......but it does show how to take the gun apart and put it back together again.......

victorcharlie, Thanks for the Feedback, and the offer.

I Think that I have the disassembly of marlins mastered, as I have done it a few times, But thanks anyway.
