Well "doggies", me and Lawdog agree on something.    :-D  Just not those newer Remingtons.

I dogged the long barreled Model 29 you see in my avatar for many years. Used it in competition and for hunting and plinking and just for every thing. Max loads one and all. I ran many thousands of them thru it before selling it like a danged fool. The fellow who bought it sure ain't letting it go any time soon. He has likewise put thousands of rounds thru it and it is still as accurate as ever. He's still using it in competition.

Someone just might be right!  I don't know how "durable" the Model 29 really is - I have been using the same one since I purchased it in 1966 - the bluing is not very durable, after just 38 years of use it started showing some wear.  Everything else is working just fine - it has withstood thousands of rounds without a problem.

After hearing, for years, the old wives tale of how they aren't strong enough, I posted the question(on several foums) to anyone who had seen one or had one that had worn out or knew of one for sure, basically. NO ONE came forward! These guns were designed to shoot.
