Hey Freddogs:

The little chocolate guy is doing great!! He's not quite 9 weeks old yet, but he's sleeping through the night in his crate. His house manners are getting pretty good, understands NO! Gets on well with everybody in the household, has become a part of the family already. Never fought the collar or leash at all, has the basic idea of heel already, even though the teaching at this point is really just play time, he's got the sit command pretty good, we just use it for a prelude to about everything ( food, play, leash ect.) He's pointed the kitty a couple of times, don't know if pointing is something that will stick with him or not, I may try to encourage it as we get into his training and see if we can develop it. He does well out in the feild just following his nose and staying close, but it's all just a walk for the little guy right now. I think that at 12-14 weeks I'll start getting a bit more demanding in the basic obedience training and see how it goes from there.
So far he's a real joy to have around, he's learning at what seems like a good pace. I think he's going to do fine!!!!

8)  It's good to hear he's working out. My buddy in Minnesota is picking up a chocolate lab female pup this spring. His brother is a breeder  down south. Still winter here.
