Hello all,
im new to this forum and after skimming through found most of you very knowlegable. im interested in in the 17hm2 for my ruger 10/22 , i understand there are drop in barrels avail. has anyone tried one yet and are there any other mods that need to be done to the action to support this hot little round. and thanks for any comming responses

Welcome to GBO! I think you'll find the only 17M2 barrels advertised as available at this time are from Eabco, others have said they would be available but problems with the new round have plagued mfrs. As of yet, no one has reported on the Eabco barrel conversions that I've seen. Good luck to you in your quest, lots of shooters are as anxious as you and waiting paitently. :wink:

The 17Mach2 barrel on a 10/22 needs a heavier bolt. If you get a barrel, make sure you get one from a place that provides the entire kit. The kit includes a heavier bolt handle along with the barrel. Some people have been finding out that there is either a failure to cycle without the extra weight, or worse, their receivers have been cracking because of the excess pressure.
